The Code aims to enhance the quality of engagement between institutional investors and companies to help improve long term returns to shareholders and the efficient exercise of governance responsibilities. Where firms do not feel it appropriate to commit to the Code an explanation of non-compliance is required.

Petroleum Equity LLP is an adviser in respect of private equity funds which advises on private equity investments. Consequently, compliance with the Stewardship Code is not relevant to Petroleum Equity LLP because we do not manage or advise on listed assets for investors.
